Ceramics Courses
Ceramics courses are over a number of weeks enabling students to work with a variety of clay bodies creating a number of items suitable for that particular medium. This enables you to learn which clay is best for which type of project. Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience.
The course will include learning to throw at the wheel, slab building, slip casting, tile making and hand building. You will have the opportunity to work with five different clay bodies and learn which type is most suited to particular methods of working.
Full instructions and assistance will be given.
Final pieces can be decorated with oxides and carbonates or glazes depending on the type of clay and the best way to bring out their qualities.
Whilst aprons will be provided, please wear old clothes as working with clay tends to be very messy. We also recommend that you leave all rings, bracelets or other hand and arm jewelry at home so it does not get damaged during the class.
Please note this will course will be run on a regular basis so if you've missed out, please check back later or sign up for our monthly newsletter to find out when the next one is due to start.
