Please note this is a weekend workshop over two days from 10.30 am - 3.30 pm. Attendees will be able to separately prebook lunch at Grantham House.
We shall start the workshop by using inspiration from 20th century artists. During the workshop we shall build layers of colour, marks and textures and include stitch and found objects if desired to create landscapes that have a lively personal feel. We shall explore possible ways of working allowing for change and the unexpected. Individual approaches and a willingness to try something new will be encouraged.

Expressive art
This workshop will encourage you to push your boundaries and view of art having to be representative. Tapping into a variety of media to bring a colourful and expressive outcome over the weekend. This weekend workshop will give you time to really explore and develop your ideas
About Mary
Mary is a stitched textile artist, maker, tutor and author. She is curious about people, their culture, practical skills and the marks they leave in their environment are a constant source of inspiration. Every place retains something of the people who live and work there. Finding those traces and connections are significant to her work. Much of the joy in what she creates is in the actual making process, allowing things to change through construction, choosing and handling materials.
